Smartworld Supports Initiatives for People with Determination

Official gold sponsors for Assistive TechX 2017

DUBAI (UAE), June 14, 2017:  As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Smartworld, UAE’s leading systems integrator and digital ICT services provider, has announced its support for initiatives for people with determination. The company will be the official gold sponsor for Assistive TechX 2017, a unique expo dedicated towards creating awareness on how assistive technology empowers people with disabilities and encourages their inclusion in mainstream community.

Abdulqader Obaid Ali, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Smartworld, an Etisalat and Dubai South joint venture company, said: “To achieve our great leadership’s vision of making the UAE the world’s friendliest place for the disabled, it is important to support initiatives focused on inclusion and integration and Smartworld’s support to the Al Noor Assistive TechX, is among our efforts in the support of the vision.” 

Over 700 million people are estimated to be living with disabilities worldwide, and 50 million of those are in the Middle East.

Al Noor Assistive TechX will host various activities including an exhibition with participation from manufacturers of assistive technology products, a conference and special workshops by experts in the field of assistive technology, a hackathon, which will provide real time solutions for people with disabilities, and an awareness workshop for the community giving them an opportunity to interact with users of assistive technology.

Smartworld employees are also organizing an in-house fundraising initiative during the Holy month of Ramadan in line with UAE’s ‘Year of Giving’.
