Dubai, UAE, 05th June 2017: Countries across the GCC are on a quest to redefine their future especially when it comes down to being socially and environmentally responsible with many countries investing billions to support a variety of sustainable initiatives.
According to the EY report ‘Power transactions and trends: 2016 review and 2017 outlook’, it was reported that Dubai launched a US$27 billion green fund to support global sustainability projects. Furthermore, Saudi Arabia intends to cut electricity and water subsidies by US$ 53 billion by 2020 with more countries following suit.
“Although governments within the GCC are taking proactive measures to achieve a sustainable future, it is also our responsibility as consumers to support their visions and objectives and make smarter decisions when it comes down to consumption of non-renewable resources,” said Mr. Yong Geun Choi, President of LG Electronics Gulf. “The rapid advancement of technology today specifically in the home appliances sector enables users to make smarter decisions to purchase products that consume less energy or water resulting in significant decline with regards to an individual’s carbon footprint as well as operating costs.”
One such technology is the LG TWINWash™ - a market first with innovation unlike any other. It allows users to wash two separate loads at the same time, hence the name “TWINWash“. Combining a full-sized 19 Kg front-load washing machine with a Mini washer in a hide-away pedestal provides a new set of washing options and capabilities. The main washing machine is powerful and can handle the bulk of the laundry, while the mini washer can be set to run on a different wash cycle.
What makes the LG TWINWash™ unique is that smaller loads can be washed when needed without having to wait for a full load to be accumulated. In addition, the Mini washer is perfect for delicates, baby clothes or other specialized items that require a more gentle wash setting.
The LG TWINWash™ is a high efficiency washer that delivers powerful but stable performance with its innovative suspension. With exceptional features such as Inverter Direct Drive motors that ensures simultaneous cleaning and a 6+ motion technology for more advanced washing performance, the LG TWINWash™ has been redesigned to change the paradigm of washing.
“This ultimate laundry system is among LG’s premium clothing-care line-up, using the world’s most innovative washing technology to take care of more loads in less time,” said Mr. Choi.
Technology is the key to addressing the issue of sustainability in the region and homeowners can take advantage of the latest innovations in sustainable home appliances to reduce the usage of water as well as other resources within their homes to realize significant cost-savings.
“Whether it is washing machines, smart televisions, air conditioners or anything related to home entertainment or home appliances, there is always a smarter choice that can empower homeowners and users to protect the environment,” concluded Mr. Choi.
It is imperative to further enhance and embrace technological innovations at home. By addressing the energy and water challenge head on through investment, innovation and partnerships across society, the GCC region can put itself at the front of a fast-growing, innovative industry that will become increasingly important to facilitate as well as accelerate global development in the near future.
