Luxury fashion group launches gold, and diamond shoes in Dubai during three-day Leatherworld exhibition

Dubai, UAE: A dazzling collection of handmade gold embossed women's shoes with diamond-encrusted heels from Italian designer Antonio Vietri, was the talk of the opening day at Leatherworld Middle East 2017, which got underway at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Vietri, had caught the imagination of the world of leather aficianados last year with his unique golden loafers, seems to have struck up another winning combination, if the reaction on the show floor was any indication. The shoes were priced in the AED 120,000 to 300,000 range.

The Turin native’s newest high-end niche range is naturally targeted toward an exclusive type of customer.The collection also features silk pumps embossed with gold or silver and buyers can customise them with pearls, Swarovski crystals, or diamonds, according to their preference.

“I’m delighted to officially unveil my women’s collection at Leatherworld Middle East 2017, following the resounding success of the global launch of my men’s collection at the show last year,” said Vietri. “Gulf consumers love exclusivity and luxury that’s entirely unique, and I’m excited to present customers and retailers something completely different from anything they’ve seen before.”

Antonio Vietri is one of more than 50 exhibitors from 16 countries at Leatherworld Middle East 2017, which runs till May 2 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The annual three-day event also features show highlights, such as the Trend Area, an exclusive showcase of exotic leather innovations seen for the first time; and Fashion Avenue, where the UAE’s most talented designers at ESMOD Dubai are showcasing their creative flair with an inspiring array of leather garments, bags, and shoes.

Other features include Leather Production for tanneries and dealers of semi-finished and finished animal hides; and the Shoe Box, a dedicated section for mid to high-end leather footwear.
