Dubai, UAE, April 9, 2017: In a colourful local fashion event held on Wednesday 5th April, City Walk Dubai officially welcomed unique retail platform Pôlette Concept Store to Al Mustaqbal Street, in the precinct's phase two development. General Manager of City Walk, Gail Sangster, alongside Pôlette Co-Founders Tamara Hostal and Denis Ravizza, honoured the official ribbon cutting before the commencement of a live fashion show, with models showcasing the vibrant men's and women's collections of Pôlette's most promising emerging designers, including Canella Hostal, Freny James, Olivier Philips, Lilith and Love Triangle.
Pôlette store came alive in a vibrant display of fashion and lifestyle at its best; whilst sampling unforgettable eclairs in numerous adventurous flavours from L’Eclair City Walk, guests were kept hydrated in style by newly launched brand Abatilles Mineral Water, whilst luxury City Walk florist Forever Rose embellished the space with elegant pastel rose arrangements in the season's colours. Talented students of ESMOD Dubai also produced live, personalised fashion illustrations of guests before gifting them their respective subjects.
Pôlette is launched in association with ESMOD Dubai, The French Fashion Institute, to operate as a concept store for emerging designers and ESMOD Dubai graduates through the design, manufacturing, retailing, branding and marketing of their collections. In line with ESMOD Dubai's CSR initiative, the store is located in the latest high end fashion retail precinct of City Walk, Dubai and is the first and only retail start-up platform in the world to launch university students' fashion brands.
Gail Sangster, General Manager of City Walk commented: "we are delighted to officially welcome Pôlette Concept Store to the City Walk family. The launch of Pôlette represents the level of talent and potential of our emerging, homegrown designers and is a positive driver of the entrepreneurial mindset which this city aims to cultivate. It is wonderful to see platforms such as Pôlette in City Walk support the growth of talent in the UAE and help to propel young designers into their fashion careers".
Denis Ravizza, Founder of Pôlette Concept Store, said he and Co-Founder Tamara Hostal had been inspired to give life to a concept store which acted as a platform for both emerging designer talent and also established brands to showcase their wares: "Alongside our designer collections, we also stock many exclusive accessories, fashion books, lifestyle and interior products which we have hand picked from around the world and are therefore not easily accessible elsewhere in the region. This also makes Pôlette a very unique place."
Canella Hostal, one of Pôlette's original designers showcased at the launch, said the boutique had provided a fantastic platform to introduce her label "CH" to the Middle Eastern market, while providing an invaluable window into the global fashion industry. It is a unique opportunity Ms. Hostal believes may not have been as accessible if launching her label independently.
"Through Pôlette, I have been able to convert my passion and dreams into a reality, now creating two collections per year for both women and men. The concept store is such a fantastic initiative for emerging talent and for me it has been integral to starting my own label. My latest SS17 collection "Tropical Symphony", which is currently featured in store, is inspired by graphics and motifs combining delicate flower prints and clashing stripes to bring a dynamic tropical flair to the creations,” Ms. Hostal said.
Student collections showcased in Pôlette come from those graduates who have successfully completed the Esmod Dubai “Fashion Design Undergraduate Program", a three year course which is open to public in 2017 for those passionate about fashion. Whilst graduates are working hard on their collections, ESMOD Dubai is proud to continue supporting their fashion industry dreams through this unique initiative.
