Doha, Qatar – 08 February 2017: Al Khalij Commercial Bank (al khaliji) P.Q.S.C., Qatar’s next generation bank, in the framework of its multifaceted Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, and in collaboration with Lite n’ Appetite Health and Diet Food Center (Lite n’ Appetite), recently organized a special nutrition awareness event titled “Together for a healthier you” for the Bank’s staff.
The initiative was held with the aim of raising awareness among al khaliji employees of the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.
As part of the activity, one on one consultancy sessions were provided to the Bank’s staff, along with comprehensive advice and education on nutrition, health and physical exercise.
Moreover, the event saw the provision of a full nutrition assessment of participating employees including segmental body mass analysis using the medically-approved BMA scale and a Waist to Hip Ratio assessment, in addition a full host of Lite n’ Appetite services such as a short educational presentation on healthy lifestyle, as well as valuable tips on adopting a healthier lifestyle following the Qatar National Dietary Guidelines, healthy cooking techniques, exercise in the workplace and stress relieving nutrition tips.
The Bank’s employees were also given their personalized ‘health and nutritional needs’ assessment report by Lite n’ Appetite. Each report reflected the current nutritional status of the employee, empowering every staff member with the information they need in order to make their own health development decisions and take positive action accordingly.
“Together for a healthier you” is one of many purposeful initiatives and activities held by al khaliji throughout the year, in line with the Bank’s CSR efforts, which revolve around balancing economic, social and environmental obligations towards the realization of the community’s aspirations and Qatar’s National Vision for the year 2030.
