38 EPG managers officials honoured for successfully completing Al Tomouh management development program

Dubai, February 22, 2017: The Human Resources Department of Emirates Post Group honoured 38 managers for successfully completing the Tamouh management development program in 2016.
This is the first batch to complete the intensive training program which consisted of 8 modules, covering key elements of effective management, including training, research and discussions on many disciplines, ranging from leadership competencies, planning for future, and ‘my vision’ based on the books "My Vision” and “Flashes of Thought” written by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to apply best practices in leadership and excellence.
Acting CEO of Emirates Post Group Mr. Abdulla Mohammed Alashram presented certificates to the successful officials at a graduation ceremony held at the EPG head office in Dubai recently.
Addressing the graduates, Mr. Alashram said the Tomouh project, which targeted leaders from second and third level managers, was designed to boost performance and productivity, in line with the vision of the wise leadership and as a part of the human resources development strategy in cooperation with the strategy partner company ‘Bbusinesss’ with a focus on interactive practical training and analysis of real-life conditions.
Mr. Alashram congratulated all the participants on the success achieved after 18 months of research and hard work within the working groups, as part of Al Tomouh management development t program.
He announced that EPG has selected three projects of the participants for future implementation: Skypost, e-commerce and mobile post office. He commended all the projects presented by the participants. He also announced that there will be another program for third level manager to train them to take on greater responsibilities.
The Al Tomouh management development program is one of the many training courses being organized by the HR Department as part of skills development initiatives across the organization.
A number of e-learning courses are offered to employees round the year. In 2016, 580 employees successfully completed online courses in various postal fields available under the ‘Trainpost’ program of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), both in English and Arabic. In addition, 209 employees used the option of doing online courses offered by private vendors in non-postal fields.
The HR Department also conducted the ‘Egrab’ customer service and postal outlet training program at the end of 2016. A total of 40 employees participated in this program, in two batches.
In 2016, the Department also conducted the “I Deliver Happiness” training program to cover 1,180 employees from operations, such as courier and sorting sections. The program covered areas like customer service, hygiene and grooming, travelling safety, communication skills and interpersonal and teamwork skills.
