Dubai, UAE, February 21, 2017: Dulsco, a regional pioneer in waste management services and human resource solutions has come forward to plant 270 ghaf trees across UAE. As part of Year of Giving, Dulsco decided to plant ghaf trees for every sustainable message that was posted on the plastic bottle wall during EcoWaste 2017 Exhibition. Dulsco received 270 messages and the company will be planting 270 ghaf tress across UAE in association with various government agencies, communities including students.
The tree planting campaign was initiated on Feb 4th to support the UAE National Environment Day. Every region in UAE, where Dulsco operates has started by planting a ghaf tree outside the office building. Dulsco intends to follow up with more tree plantation drives within the organisation’s various staff accommodations and also in Qatar.
David Stockton, Managing Director, Dulsco stated that, “In fulfilling our social values as an organization, Dulsco will be able to make a positive impact on our environment through this initiative. We can’t live without trees. They are the source of the air we breathe and water we drink. Trees provide a home for most wildlife and are critical to our planet’s biodiversity. They also provide one of our primary defenses against climate change. As a part of Year of Giving, Dulsco decided to plant ghaf trees for every sustainable message received during EcoWaste 2017.”
Flowers, fruits, leaves, bark, branches and roots of ghaf (Prosopis Cineraria) – all provide resources and habitat for a variety of native fauna and flora, making the tree a keystone species. Identified with the Arab tradition, ghaf finds a place in the UAE landscape as the country’s national tree.
“We are delighted to go green with our tree planting initiative. It gives us immense pleasure to see people taking extra efforts to visit our stand at EcoWASTE 2017 and help us in this initiative by posting their messages on our wall. The aim of this initiative is not only to drive the message of conservation of resources but also encourage the residents of UAE especially youngsters to contribute their bit towards the environment thereby helping the future,” added David Stockton.
Dulsco had created one of the largest recycling logos with the help of recyclables at EcoWASTE 2017. Arab artists Maysoon and Bassam used 500kg of recovered wood, 20kg of old newspapers, 175kg of used cardboard and 200 recycled plastic bottles to create the Dulsco stand at the show. Dulsco won the first prize for the stand design and concept at EcoWASTE 2017.
Dulsco is among the very few waste management and HR solution providers in the region to be awarded the Superbrand status. It is a limited liability company and expanded its services to include all the Emirates and neighbouring Gulf countries. Dulsco was acknowledged as one of the ‘Top Companies to Work For’ in the recent times by the Great Places To Work For Institute, a global research and management consultancy.
