Malabar Gold & Diamonds expands its jewellery manufacturing capacity in Qatar

Dubai, UAE, July 31, 2016: Mr. Shamlal Ahamed, Managing Director International Operations – Malabar Gold & Diamonds and Mr. Abdul Salam KP – Group Executive Director, Malabar Group jointly inaugurates the expanded Al Nazha Gold Jewellery Factory
- Al Nazha Gold Jewellery Factory in Qatar is the 4th of its kind by Malabar Gold & Diamonds in the GCC and 11th globally.
- Aiming to produce 2,400 kg of gold jewellery per year worth over AED 360 million
- Produces a wide range of gold ornaments with high quality & finish utilizing the latest technologies like casting, CNC and CAD-CAM(3d)
Al Nazha Gold Jewellery Factory, a division of Malabar Gold & Diamonds which started their operation in Qatar in 2013 is expanding the manufacturing facilities in the region by renovating and adding latest machineries to meet the gold jewellery requirement in Qatar. The renovated & expanded factory was inaugurated jointly by Mr. Shamlal Ahamed, Managing Director International Operations – Malabar Gold & Diamonds and Mr. Abdul Salam KP – Group Executive Director, Malabar Group jointly inaugurates the expanded Al Nazha Gold Jewellery Factory in the presence of Mr Faizal A K, Corporate Executive Director – Malabar Group, other Directors, dignitaries, Media and well-wishers.
Starting with 15 employees and a limited production of 360 kg, Al Nazha Gold Jewellery Factory has today reached a production capacity of 960 kg with about 40 employees running the factory. This change did not happen overnight. It was achieved through hard work & persistence on setting exceptionally high standards to meet the aspiration of customers. The dedicated and highly skilled employees invested their heart and soul in striving to achieve maximum perfection. Al Nazha Gold Jewellery Factory in Qatar is 4th of its kind in GCC, already operates 2 factories in UAE & 1 factory in KSA. Apart from these 4 units, 7 more manufacturing units are operating in India.
In the initial days, the production was that of handmade bangles, handmade chains and casting products only. However, presently Al Nazha delivers production of jewellery that is handmade, casting products, machine chains, gold coins and Kolkata jewellery.
The different departments within the factory include casting, handmade jewellery, chain, bracelet and ring production, Kolkata jewellery, machine made chains, ball making, melting, diamond cutting, polishing and stone setting.
To meet the existing jewellery requirements, Al Nazha Gold Jewellery factory decided to expand its production to a variety of designs and styles by adding the latest technologies like Computerized Numeric Control (CNC). The present area of the factory is 2,000 sq feet. An additional area of 1,100 sq feet will be acquired by the factory. As per the factory’s expansion plan, the expected production capacity would be about 2,400 kg of gold jewellery per year worth over AED 360 million, aiming to deliver good quality products on time to the customers in Qatar.
The staff strength in the factory will also increase to 50 employees as a part of the expansion plan. The factory strives to continue embarking on its journey by further expanding in the near future.
