Noted Educationist Dr Kenneth Greig Assumes Office

Abu Dhabi-UAE: 26 June 2016 – Bloom Education, the   education division of Bloom Holding, has announced the appointment of Dr Kenneth Greig as Head Master of Brighton College Al Ain.

Dr Greig brings to his new role a distinguished academic profile with a proven track record of successful leadership experience developed over 16 years at the helm of two Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference (HMC) schools - an association of independent boarding and day schools in the United Kingdom. He has been Rector of Hutchesons' Grammar School in Glasgow for the past decade, and is the former Headmaster of Pangbourne College in Berkshire.

Dr Greig holds a   MA in Natural Science (Geology) from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Geology from the University of Edinburgh.

His appointment follows Brighton College Al Ain's recent achievement of being awarded the highest ranking of any school in the UAE - following a four-day inspection of the British-style premium school. The College has been judged as ‘Outstanding' in every category by an Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) inspection team, becoming the first school to ever achieve a ‘perfect score' in the city of Al Ain.

Richard Cairns, Head Master of Brighton College UK, said: “Dr Greig's appointment comes at an ideal time in the history of our college in Al Ain. His stellar track record, coupled with the college's position as best in the city, will ensure it remains the academic destination of choice for all aspirational Al Ain families.”

Henning Fries, CEO, Bloom Education, said: “We are delighted to welcome Dr Greig on board and look forward to leveraging his extensive leadership experience and academic achievements to sustain the reputation we have built over the past years. Dr Greig's appointment emphasises Brighton College UK's commitment to providing leading-edge education in Al Ain, one that makes a real difference to students' development and future opportunities.”

Dr Greig commented: “It is very exciting to be coming to a school that ADEC rates as Outstanding. Brighton College's commitment to excellence across all areas of school life is clearly working. Parents can be sure students receive the very best for their children in this school.”

He added: “I am delighted to lead a team of committed teachers   striving to raise the bar in terms of quality education and empower the next generation. I look forward to meeting my new colleagues, students and parents and to experiencing life in the Emirates.”

Brighton College Al Ain was set up in 2013 as part of Bloom Education's partnership with Brighton College in the UK – the leading co-educational School in England, to bring the world class standards of this prestigious school to the UAE and the wider Gulf region. The 10-hectare campus in Al Ain boasts state-of-the-art facilities and has, along with its sister school in Abu Dhabi, set the gold standard in educational quality in the emirate.
