Kuwait, June 8, 2016: Huawei—a leading global ICT solutions provider—has wrapped up its annual regional ICT Road Show, collaborating with representatives from regional governments and the private sector to demonstrate the benefits of new advancements in Cloud technology. The Huawei Cloud IT Road Show ran successfully from August 2015 to May 2016, stopping across UAE, KSA, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Pakistan. Stretching over 11 cities, the roadshow involved 16 Telecom Operators, over 90+ renowned enterprises, and hosted a total of more than 2,500 participants from the ICT domain.
Under the theme ‘Open Roads to Cloud’, Huawei experts offered live real world demonstrations of its cloud-based ICT portfolio which includes ‘FusionSphere’ Cloud OS, Cloud Management, Cloud Desktop, 4K Storage Solution, Multiple Server & Storage solution, Virtual Data Center and Data center Facility solutions. Leaders learned innovative methods in applying ICT solutions across numerous verticals in the enterprise environment. These include oil & gas, healthcare, education, banking and finance. “I believe that Huawei, as one of ICT leading companies, will continue to channel its efforts into the progression of the untapped regional ICT market,” said Tariq Sultan of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, as he addressed event attendees during Huawei’s stop in Islamabad, Pakistan.
“As technology’s role in the overall development of regional societies and economies continues to grow, the cooperation of key ICT players will become vital for various public and private organizations.”
“Societies across the globe are entering a new era of digitization, changing the way that organizations deliver on-demand services to the public,” said Sun Xiaofeng, Executive Vice President and Head of Marketing and Solution Sales of Huawei Middle East. “In building a better connected Kuwait, and in line with the country’s State Vision Kuwait 2035 , it is Huawei’s aim to help make ICT simpler and business more agile. We are also committed to make more contributions to Kuwait’s efforts with our complete portfolio of new ICT technologies solutions.”
Due to its popularity at last year’s roadshow, the Huawei Demo Truck went on tour for a second year to give customers the opportunity to explore Huawei’s latest innovations in data center solutions, virtual servers & desktops, plus a wide range of vertical industry solutions. The Demo Truck includes access to a fully-functional Huawei data center container operating in a live environment and provides an interactive demonstration platform to showcase its full IT solution portfolio.
Analysts at IDC have previously noted that spending on ICT products and services in the Middle East and Africa are expected to grow monumentally year-on-year, and is the second-fastest growing market worldwide. The cloud market in particular is expected to continue perform strongly in 2016, spurred by the growing maturity of the region’s ICT market and the increase in the number of smart organizations using cloud services.
