Dubai, UAE, June 5, 2016: Emirates Post Group (EPG) and UAE Internal Auditors Association (IIA) have signed cooperation agreement to boost mutual relations in developing human resources and exchanging information and experiences in the field of "audit and internal control.”
The agreement was signed by Acting Chief Executive Officer of EPG Mr. Abdullah Mohammed Al Ashram and Chairman of UAE IIA Mr. Abdel Qader Obaid Ali at EPG head office in Dubai, attended by Executive Director of Legal Department Affairs of EPG, Omar Bin Byat, and senior officials from both organisations.
Mr Al Ashram said: “This agreement will play a crucial role in developing EPG’s work environment through exchange of information and experiences in the field of audit and internal control, in accordance with global standards and practices endorsed by International Institute of Internal Auditors. In addition, it will promote transparency and help lay the framework for good corporate governance and bring tools for identifying potential risks and solutions for better internal control.”
He said the agreement will help spread the culture of audit and internal control and raise the levels of performance, career development and professional capabilities through specialized seminars and events related to internal auditing and institutional risks.
Mr. Abdul Qader Obaid Ali, while thanking Emirates Post Group for sealing this strategic partnership, urged the Group to take advantage of the services offered by the association, specifically those related to upgrading employees' competencies by joining specialized courses that are designed to qualify them to raise further the levels of auditing and internal control within the organisation.
The UAE Internal Auditors Association, set up in July 1995, is a non-profit organisation that has secured the support of leading UAE companies. It regularly invites leading speakers from across the world to share their experiences and knowledge with UAE business leaders and audit professionals.
