Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry signs partnership agreements to boost innovation in the Emirate

Latest agreements to enhance shjSEEN program offerings for entrepreneurs and investors

25 April 2016 - Sharjah, United Arab Emirates –The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) today announced their partnership with a number of organizations to support and help fulfil the three core pillars of the shjSEEN program: Activate, Incubate, Award. The partners – Sharjah Tatweer Forum, Skyline University College, Formatech, and Startup Central – will offer their expertise in relation to business and education to facilitate members of the community as they become involved in the shjSEEN programs, participate in awards, and establish their own businesses. The partnerships were signed under the patronage of Chairman H.E. Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman H.E. Abdullah Deafis, Director General H.E. Khalid Bin Butti Al Hajeri, and Assistant Director Mohammed Ahmed Amin, H.E. Sara Al Madani, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board Member and Member of the shjSEEN Board of Trustees, and General Coordinator Nada Al Hajri.

The shjSEEN program aims to raise awareness for Sharjah as a natural destination for entrepreneurs and established businesses by collaborating with leading and regional brands. The newly signed partners have each been allocated a mission based on their services that will assist both shjSEEN participants and the local community. The Sharjah Tatweer Forum will serve as a professional platform for start-ups and entrepreneurs to thrive in their fields. Skyline University College will support the education facet by offering scholarships that can be earned through shjSEEN activations. Formatech, a leading training centre, will aid in business education for incubators of the program. Finally, Startup Central will support the incubators of shjSEEN by offering inside knowledge on conducting business within the region.

“Our latest partnerships are a testament to the strength of Sharjah as a regional and international destination for innovation and entrepreneurship. Working hand in hand with reputable organizations such as Sharjah Tatweer Forum, Skyline University College, Formatech, and Startup Central, allows us to further tailor our services to meet the needs of entrepreneurs and investors,” said H.E. Sara Al Madani, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board Member and Member of the shjSEEN Board of Trustees. “With these latest agreements, we look forward to witnessing the continued growth of the Sharjah entrepreneurial scene.”

As part of its strategy, the next shjSEEN activation, “Lost in Mleiha…Searching for Education” will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in Mleiha Desert, Sharjah. The treasure hunt competition, in collaboration with Skyline University College, will offer participants the chance to win a 50% and 25% scholarship from the university which can then be credited towards a BBA or MBA degree. The treasure hunt aims to enhance business education opportunities in the community and registration is open to the public.

As part of its aim to strengthen the culture of quality, organizational excellence and innovation in Sharjah, shjSEEN will continue to announce partnerships and activations to reinforce the emirate's position as an aspirational place to live, work and invest.
