The Italian jewellery industry is composed of approximately 9,000 companies employing 32.000 people, mainly concentrated in four major geographical areas - Vicenza, Valenza, Arezzo, Campania Region - with a total turnover of more than €6 billion. Most of these are highly specialized small and medium sizedcompanies, enjoying a very diversified product base and very high goods to export all over the world.
Italy relies strongly on the importance of Dubai as the leading hub for jewellery sales and luxury propensity worldwide.
The UAE is one of the most prominent markets for Italian gold and jewellery. In 2015 sales totaled over €1 billion and the UAE ranked second after Switzerland in terms of Italian exports to world markets.
