Al Maya to Showcase New Products at Gulfood 2016

Dubai, UAE, February 24, 2016: India’s Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Smt.Harsimrat Kaur Badal visited the Al Maya Group stand on the first day of Gulfood, informed Mr. Kamal Vachani, Group Director of Al Maya Group.
Al Maya Group is launching new food products during its participation in the 21st edition of Gulfood, said Group Director Mr. Kamal Vachani.
The minister showed keen interest on the products on display at Al Maya stand appreciated the efforts of Al Maya group to promote Indian products in the UAE, Mr. Kamal Vachani said.
The UAE is India’s third largest trading partner with around $60 billion total trade after China and the US.
Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal is strong believer of the promotion of food sector in the country to attract foreign direct investment and increase exports.
Running from February 21-25, 2016 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Gulfood 2016 is the biggest edition where tens of thousands of trade visitors are expected this year.
“Al Maya Supermarket portfolio includes a large variety of food items for everyday needs of almost all nationalities in the UAE,” Mr. Kamal Vachani said.
Al Maya Group, the UAE-based business conglomerate, has more than 40 supermarkets in the GCC countries in addition to other businesses. The group recently expanded its reach in Oman and Abu Dhabi by opening new outlets last year.
The value of food consumption in the UAE is projected to grow to AED40.8 billion in 2018, according to Business Monitor International.
