Youth engagement is a key pillar for XYoga Dubai

GEMS students participate with mind, body and soul as they prepare for the XYoga Dubai festival
Dubai, UAE, February 15, 2016: In its continuous efforts to extend the importance of wellbeing and the balance between mind and body across the Emirates, XYoga Dubai – in collaboration with Posetivity and GEMS Schools – launched the first event in a series of activities targeted at school children in the run to the main festival this 19 – 20 February.
With the growing popularity of outdoor activities in the Emirate, XYoga Dubai is designed to highlight the accessibility of yoga as a lifestyle choice to help encourage people of all ages to defy their bodily limits and mental boundaries. XYoga Dubai – being hailed as the largest yoga event of its kind in the region; and organized by XDubai and Dubai Tourism, and presented by du will be held at Burj Park, Downtown Dubai next week.
During their school years, children face many emotional, social, and physical conflicts and changes that require attention and care. Yoga classes have been proven to support students’ self-awareness from an early age, while creating a positive and nurturing environment.
Javad Khoramifar, XYoga Dubai Festival Director commented “Our yearlong initiative focuses on inclusion of the whole community, we hope to build awareness around the importance of yoga for people of all ages.
“We’re glad to be working with Posetivity and GEMS to allow the younger generation to reap the countless benefits of the practice, especially due to the important effect that physical and mental fitness have on children’s lives. We’re looking forward to welcoming people from all walks of life to the festival and urge everyone to register to secure their spot, we’re expecting crowds in the thousands.”
Natalia Hassanie & Katherine Cebrowski, founders of Posetivity, an initiative that aims to encourage a healthier lifestyle among children and teenagers by practicing yoga, conducted one hour sessions at GEMS Firstpoint School and GEMS Modern Academy with the XYoga Dubai team.

The exam season is just around the corner and yoga is proven to be calming and improve concentration – which is just what students need. Organised by XDubai and Dubai Tourism, XYoga Dubai will encompass a two-day mega festival of the body and the mind, set to take place at the Burj Park Downtown Dubai, between February 19-20, 2016. The mass session on the 19th will be hosted by Bollywood superstar and fitness fanatic, Shilpa Shetty, along with renowned yoga instructor Suneel Singh. The weekend will consist of a series of free yoga sessions, workshops and talks for all ages and abilities, alongside a variety of live music sets and entertainment experiences for Dubai residents and visitors to enjoy.
