Al Nabooda Automobiles delivers final Volkswagen Golf GTE to Dubai Municipality

• Tenth Golf GTE plug-in hybrid model arrives in the United Arab Emirates
• Partnership between Volkswagen and Dubai Municipality demonstrates dedication to sustainability
Dubai, 07 February 2016: Volkswagen Middle East and Al Nabooda Automobiles, in collaboration with Dubai Municipality, Thursday marked the handover of the tenth and final Golf GTE plug-in hybrid model in Dubai at the Dubai Municipality Headquarters.
H.E. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General, Dubai Municipality was presented with the Volkswagen Golf GTE plug-in hybrid by Mr K. Rajaram, CEO of Al Nabooda Automobiles during the event.
The Volkswagen hybrids have been delivered to Dubai Municipality steadily since October 2015, in order to trial the cars on the roads of the UAE.
H.E. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General, Dubai Municipality said, “Dubai aims to become one of the world’s leading sustainable cities by 2020 and wide-scale deployment of electric vehicles is a key aspect to achieving this goal.
“Volkswagen hybrid vehicles are in parallel with our strategic vision for the United Arab Emirates Vision 2021 and Dubai Plan 2021, which aim for an environment-friendly, smart, sustainable and connected city.”
Mr K. Rajaram, CEO of Al Nabooda Automobiles added, “Today, we hand over the final Golf GTE vehicle and reflect on the great privilege to collaborate with Dubai Municipality in working together towards a sustainable future in the region.
