Alfardan Group promotes spirit of nationalism in celebration of Qatar National Day

December 19, 2015: Alfardan Group has actively participated in the nationwide commemoration of Qatar National Day as a show of support for the government’s ongoing efforts towards making Qatar one of the world’s most innovative and pioneering countries. The historic occasion held on December 18, 2015 was marked by a wide range of cultural and leisure activities organized to celebrate the country’s dynamic evolution over the past decades. As a Silver Sponsor for this year’s celebrations, the Group significantly contributed to the festivities as a token of its unwavering allegiance to Qatar. Its support also reflects the conglomerate’s steadfast commitment to complement the vision of the country’s wise leadership.  

National Day, also known as Founder’s Day, provides a platform for citizens and residents of Qatar to join together in observance of their rich tradition and unified identity. Hussain Alfardan, Chairman of Alfardan Group, attended the festivities at the Corniche which was the main venue of the celebrations. The exciting roster of activities, including the popular Darb El Saai and other events staged ahead of the National Day, was open to the public and highlighted different aspects of the country’s multi-faceted cultural and social dimensions.

The highly-anticipated parade of the country’s Armed Forces, Emiri Guards, and Internal Security Force was accompanied by music performed by a live band. The parade was followed by an aerial and sea show from the Air Force and Navy. Also, as part of the celebrations, Mr. Omar Alfardan, President and CEO of Alfardan Group, was awarded a trophy and a certificate of appreciation by HE Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser Al Ali, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Head of National Day Celebration Committee, during a special event held on the 15th of December at Darb El Saai. The event was organized by the Committee to commend the sponsors for their invaluable role and unwavering support for the National Day celebrations.
