Nursery receives the first Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award in education sector

British Orchard Nursery is the first and the only recipient in educational institution sector in the award’s 14-year history

December 9, 2015; Abu Dhabi, UAE: British Orchard Nursery stood out among the winners of the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Awards (SKEA), 2015, as the only educational institution to have received the prestigious award in the Award’s 14-year history. The nursery won the award in the Gold category, which was presented by His Highness Sheikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi at a ceremony held at Emirates Palace. With this award, the SKEA also breaks into education sector category for the first time. This is yet another feather in the cap of UAE’s largest nursery chain which has won several awards earlier, both on local and international platform.

Applicants of the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Awards are assessed on a stringent criteria partly based on enablers – such as leadership, strategy, partnership and resources – and partly on results with respect to customers, society in general and key performance. The Awards aim to raise awareness levels of the business community in relation to all matters pertaining to quality and business excellence principles and practices, and help individuals and companies attain higher efficiency and productivity, among other goals.
