Board members and employees gather to both celebrate the UAE National Day and pay tribute to the sacrifice of martyrs during first ever UAE Commemoration Day
Dubai, UAE, November 30, 2015: The spirit of national pride was on display at AW Rostamani’s headquarters when Board members and employees from the organization gathered to honour the 44th UAE National Day and the first ever UAE Commemoration Day. The Dubai based group, which has extensive interests across business sectors, paid tribute to its home country with a number of special activities.
Among the activities involved at the AW Rostamani event was the unfolding of a 42-metre ‘Spirit of the Union’ and ‘Martyrs Day’ banner. A one-minute silence was observed to allow participants to reflect on those who had died protecting the nation’s ideals and securing the safety of its residents.
“This was a bittersweet occasion and a very emotional one for all who took part. It saw all employees from AW Rostamani celebrate the anniversary of the state of the union and the country’s incredible success since 1971, as well as remember those who have given their lives to have enabled these accomplishments to take place,” said Abdul Wahid Al Rostamani, Chairman of at AW Rostamani Group.
“This important event allowed us to honour the memory of those who have selflessly died to safeguard the UAE. We pay tribute to HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God protect him, whose inspirational leadership introduced UAE Commemoration Day in order for us to remember what is sometimes necessary to build a great nation; a nation we celebrate on UAE National Day. This was a time for sorrow but also a time for great joy,” added Al Rostamani.
