Panasonic to take the Photography Industry by storm with the new ‘Post Focus' Technology

Dubai UAE, November 29, 2015:  Panasonic Marketing Middle East & Africa has announced the proposing of a new photographic experience in Panasonic Cameras through a new technological function ‘Post Focus’ that enables users to select in-focus area after shooting with easy operation. It allows multiple shots with different focus points with a single shutter release to choose from. It also enhances creative freedom in photography, even enabling more precise focusing in macro shots. Best shots with perfect focus on the desired part of the image are always available.

Post Focus function has been developed by combining the high-speed, high-precision DFD (Depth From Defocus) auto focus technology and the 4K technology made possible by Venus Engine.  Burst images in 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixel) are shot at 30 fps while detecting max. 49 areas of a frame to set focus on each of them.

Operation of Post Focus function is quite simple and easy – Image needs to be taken in the Post Focus mode and touch on the point where you want to set focus while playing back the image. Focus Peaking, 5x magnified view and fine adjustment functions can be used for an advantage to set focus precisely, taking as much time as required after shooting. The image with designated in-focus area will be newly produced and saved as a separate photo. This process can be repeated also to get multiple shots to compare.

The Post Focus function can be used not only in situations like macro, where severe focusing techniques are required but also for creative purpose in photography such as perspective landscape or portrait. Different impressions can be pulled out of one picture by changing the subject to highlight with effects of focus and defocus. It also assures users to have best shot, instead of basic, common misshots due to out-of-focus. This function is suited for recording still objects.

The Post Focus function will be available on DMC-GX8, G7 and DMC-FZ300 by updating the firmware to version 2.0. The firmware that enables DMC-GH4 to comply with Post Focus is scheduled to be released in early 2016.
