New slogan reflects UAE’s national strategy for innovation
Sharjah, 12th of October 2015: As part of its efforts to instill a culture of innovation among children, the Sharjah Children Council (SCC), an initiative of the General Department of Sharjah Children Centres, has approved the slogan for its 14th edition 2015-2016, which is “We creatively innovate…Our UAE”.
The slogan is aimed at encouraging council members to embrace innovation and take the initiative in adopting an innovative approach to contribute to the development of their country based on a solid foundation of knowledge and science.
The slogan reflects the SCC’s aim to embrace and implement the national strategy for innovation by encouraging children to unleash their potential and enhance their specific capabilities, as well as urging them to activate their sense of adventure to effectively participate in the development of the UAE in the near future.
Reem BinKaram, Manager of the General Department of the Sharjah Children Centers said, “The new slogan exemplifies our keenness to instill the culture of innovation among our children because every nation needs to innovate and create in order to face the rapid changes and challenges witnessed throughout the world and in the UAE in particular. Therefore, this slogan reflects our clear strategy that aims to encourage children to put the concept of innovation into practice as childhood is when the spirit of creativity and innovation can be unearthed.”
BinKaram added, “Our slogan falls under the approach adopted by the UAE thanks to the directives of its wise leadership. The UAE has been a pioneer in adopting methods of creativity, through its national strategy of innovation, which aims to place the UAE among the most innovative nations in the world during the next seven years. Furthermore, we want to motivate children to take this approach as this generation of children will be the ones who preserve the gains of this union and strengthen the success of the country in all fields.”
BinKaram praised the efforts of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs, for supporting children’s issues and nurturing emerging talent in all sectors of society, which reflects Her Highness’s faith in the Emirati younger generation.
The Sharjah Children Council aims to fulfill the vision of the UAE’s leadership for educating and engaging children in the country’s parliamentary life as well as for consolidating children’ s principals that are based on respecting others’ opinions and freedoms, as well as appreciating their personalities. The Council also aims to reinforce the principals of Islam and its high values, such as selflessness and prioritizing public interests.
SCC works on instilling a sense of responsibility in children and empowers them to express their views on issues that are related to them, and to engage in bold and articulate dialogue with officials, as well as encourage more interest about children’s upbringing, health, security and environment, from social institutions concerned about childhood. In addition to that, the council aspires to develop a well-educated and conscious generation, aware of reality and causes, and capable of presenting these causes and participating in solving them.
