Less than a week to go until the coolest charity event: the Ice Warrior Challenge returns to Ski Dubai

The hotly anticipated charity endurance race that will see entrants tackle brand new obstacles, returns for the sixth consecutive year
Dubai, UAE, 27th September 2015 – Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East and North Africa, is calling out to all thrill seekers to sign up to take part in this year’s annual charity Ice Warrior Challenge at Ski Dubai, the first ski resort in the region, as the countdown to the event commences.
Taking place on Friday, 2nd October at 8am at Ski Dubai the indoor ski resort in Mall of the Emirates, participants will push their physical fitness to its peak, as they tackle the newly designed commando assault course in -4 degrees.
With less than a week left to sign up for the challenge, Ski Dubai has taken the competition to new heights by introducing several new and exciting obstacles into the course. The old favourites will also be returning including the cargo net crawl, zorb mall maze, monkey bar swings, tire course and black run climb, all of which have all been custom designed specifically for the event.
Speaking about the Ice Warrior Challenge, Omar El Banna, Marketing & Business Development Director at Majid Al Futtaim - Leisure & Entertainment, said: “We are delighted by the level of interest we have already seen in this year’s Ice Warrior Challenge. All proceeds from the Ice Warrior Challenge will go to the Dubai Center for Special Needs, a non-profit organization founded in 1993. The Center is dedicated to providing the highest standards of service in specialized education and therapy to individuals with various disabilities.
The winning warriors, one male and one female, will each receive three nights stay at the Cristallo Hotel in Spa & Golf in Cortina D’Ampezzo Italy, an Air France KLM roundtrip economy ticket to the resort with ground transfers and complimentary skiing lessons. Runners up will be gifted with hotels stays, helicopter tours, dinner and spa vouchers, gym memberships and various other exciting prizes thanks to our Sponsors.
In order not to miss out on the action, spectators can cheer on the participants from the sidelines, in specially designated viewing areas inside Mall of the Emirates. This year all spectators can also watch a clear view of the race whilst enjoying a wonderful breakfast, from Après. Located on level one in Mall of The Emirates, right above Ski Dubai.
The Ice Warrior Challenge is taking place on Friday, 2nd October 2015 at 8am at Ski Dubai in Mall of the Emirates. It is open to group or individual participants of all fitness levels, 16 years old and up and will cost AED 250 per entry. Registering after 27 September 2015 will incur additional charges.
