Professionals keen to master the art of Financial Modeling to cease upcoming opportunities

Dubai, UAE; 9th August 2015- Genesis training Institute, a leading provider of quality financial education, organized a free financial modeling workshop on the 4th of August 2015. The workshop was aimed at current and aspiring financial professionals who are looking to enhance their skills when it comes to developing and creating financial models. The event proved to be a popular affair, as close to 50 people were in attendance at the Genesis training facility located in Vision Tower, Business Bay.

Financial modeling is the task of building an abstract representation of a real world financial situation. A model is created and designed to represent (a simplified version of) the performance of a financial asset or portfolio of a business, project, or any other investment.

In accordance with the UAE’s booming financial sector, a good financial model can be essential in understanding the drivers and implications of business decisions. According to the General Manager of Middle East and North Africa at Morgan McKinley, hiring in important industries such as the financial sector is set to see a rise of 5-10% in the UAE through each quarter of 2015. This spike is mainly due to new projects and investments that are expected to come into the market before the end of 2015, hence it now as important as ever for financial professionals to equip themselves with the relevant tools in anticipation of these upcoming opportunities.

The Managing Director of Genesis and a regular speaker on matters related to finance, Binod Shankar, CFA reiterated the growth of UAE’s financial industry, “There is an undoubted uptrend that can be spotted in the financial sector in the country.” He also talked about the importance of financial learning to enhance skills and increase chances of being hired.  “As someone who has been a part of the finance industry for nearly 20 years, I realize the importance of appropriate education that financial professionals need in order to perform well in the market and that’s exactly what we look to provide at Genesis” he added.
