Ajman University Organizes Week-Long Celebrations for 50th UAE National Day

It’s festive mood at Ajman University (AU)where the campus is echoing with celebratory notes of the military band and the atmosphere is lively with colorful decorations that adorn the campus. AU is celebrating the 50th National Day of the United Arab Emirates from November 21-25 with great pomp and vigor.
Ajman University is a diverse community with students, faculty and staff coming from over 50 countries worldwide. For the celebration week of the UAE National Day however, the staff, faculty and students have united under the single banner of the UAE National flag.
Even the security staff sport the colors of the flag proudly and pose with the attractive artwork at the entrance, celebrating the 50th year of the UAE.
On November 24, a virtual ceremony was held to commemorate the National Day, keeping in mind everyone’s safety and Covid-19 measures. Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University addressed the AU community and congratulated everyone on the occasion. Dr. Karim recalled the values of the UAE’s founding fathers and urged students, staff and faculty to inculcate the spirit of humanity, compassion and excellence on this occasion.
A virtual art exhibition was held during the ceremony, where interesting and colorful exhibits relating to the history of UAE were displayed. The virtual ceremony was preceded by distribution of gifts and sweets by the Student Council and Emirati Students Club of Ajman University.
The week of celebrations will conclude on Thursday, November 25, 2021, with an evening of poetry hosted by the poet Saeed bin Ghalita Al-Ghafli.
