On Wednesday, 20 May, and in conjunction with more than 24 cities around the world, Dubai will host the thirteenth edition of the international event, Portfolio Night. Havas Worldwide Middle East, based in Knowledge Village – Dubai, will serve as organizer of the event for the second year, while the American University of Dubai (AUD) will serve as the event venue. The evening aims to create an ideal platform for fresh graduates to meet with over 15 renowned advertising professionals and showcase their own talent.
Along with Dubai, other participating cities include: Atlanta, Austin, Beijing, Berlin, Boston, Budapest, Cape Town, Chicago, Detroit, Johannesburg, Hong Kong, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Montreal, New York, Paris, Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo, Toronto and others.
Rachid Mtaini, Regional Managing Director of Havas Worldwide Middle East, said: “Dubai has turned into an oasis with the biggest international advertising agencies in the Middle East. Organising the international event of Portfolio Night is in line with supporting this sector and the creativity process that accompanies it.”
He added, “Choosing Dubai to host this event, with a qualitative audience from some of the key players in the advertising industry, assures the distinctive position that Dubai holds within the media industry as a whole.”
At the end of the event, one graduate will be selected as the winner of “Best Achievement Portfolio”—a portfolio completed in his or her final year of university that showcases exceptional creative thinking and design skills—and announced as the Portfolio Night All-Star. The All-Star’s efforts will be rewarded with an all-expense paid trip to New York to train with a select group of experts in the field of advertising, allowing the winner to acquire extensive knowledge on a global level and potentially secure a job opportunity.
