ACSRN to Host Two-day Course on CSR and Sustainability

Leading CSR organisation offers members of the public opportunity to learn more about strategy and leadership
Dubai, UAE, May 14, 2015: Members of the public wanting a better insight into Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability can benefit from a course being hosted by Arabia CSR Network (ACSRN). Taking place from May 25-26 at Millennium Plaza hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, the programme from the region’s leading CSR training body will focus on leadership strategies, demonstrating how effective management can help organisations attain new heights of greatness in the increasingly important spheres of CSR and sustainability.
Structured into eight sessions and featuring discussions and interactive exercises, ACSRN’s training covers key CSR and sustainability themes that include: value creation, strategies, leadership, performance measurement, benchmarking and future challenges. On completion of the course sessions and following a successful assessment exercise at the close of the programme, participants will be issued with a Certificate of Attainment, testifying to reaching of a level of knowledge based on the training module.
“The aim of this course, which is open to anyone to participate, is to equip attendees with the necessary strategies for cultivating leadership in CSR and sustainability. Among the skills they will learn over the two days is how to develop sustainability strategies in tandem with market needs to create value for the business and society, and how to develop new leadership competencies specific to CSR. They will also learn how to create a balanced sustainability portfolio, how to design innovation going beyond greening, how to formulate effective approaches for challenges and how to maximise opportunities,” said Habiba Al Marashi, President and CEO of ACSRN.
ACSRN’s forthcoming course is its latest offering in the programme of CSR and sustainability trainings it conducts throughout the year. The organisation has delivered an array of workshops and in-house trainings in the UAE, Bahrain and Oman, with the aim of building knowledge and capacity about CSR and sustainability. ACSRN is the first certified training body in the region to offer accredited sustainability reporting courses based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) framework, one of the world’s most established set of sustainability reporting guidelines. To date, the organisation has imparted GRI certified trainings to 222 professionals representing 133 bodies.
