Dubai, UAE, May 14, 2015 – Imdaad, a leading provider of integrated facilities and waste management solutions in the GCC, has announced its support for the people of Nepal affected by the powerful earthquake of 7.8 magnitude on Richter Scale that hit the country on April 25, 2015. The company has committed to help the victims by raising funds for relief operations from its Jebel Ali office. Donation boxes will be placed at a strategic location within the office premises for employees to drop cash, clothing, bed sheets, and canned and dry food items.

Jamal Abdullah Lootah, Chief Executive Officer, Imdaad, said: “Nepal experienced its worst earthquake in 80 years and is in need of the international community's support to rebuild affected areas and rehabilitate its people. Imdaad expresses its solidarity for Nepal and its people and stand committed by their side during such difficult times. Imdaad has set up donation boxes within its Jebel Ali office premises to raise funds with the aim of helping those affected by the natural disaster. We extend our deepest condolences to the victims of the tragedy and sincerely hope that our support will contribute in ongoing relief work.”

The earthquake in Nepal with epicentre at Barpak in the Gorkha District has killed at least 3,351 people and injured more than 6,500. The death toll is expected to rise as rescue operations continue. Thousands of people have been rendered homeless as hundreds of houses have collapsed. Kathmandu, the country's capital, was among the worst affected areas where centuries-old buildings and monuments were destroyed, including the Kathmandu Durbar Square, the Patan Durbar Square, and the Bhaktapur Durbar Square.
