Leading global security incident responsecommunity, FIRST, welcomes du SIRT to their exclusive ranks
Dubai, UAE, 5 May, 2015: du Security Incident Response Team (du SIRT), responsible for managing cyber-attacks and security incidents, has become a member of the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) community. By becoming a member of a global security community, we are ensured greater visibility to the latest threats, ways in which to combat them, and remain abreast of global trends.
FIRST is the premier organisation and recognised global leader in incident response. du SIRT joins a variety of computer security incident response teams from government, commercial, and educational organisations, to more effectively respond to security incidents, both reactively and proactively. FIRST aims to foster cooperation and coordination in incident prevention, to stimulate rapid reaction to incidents, and to promote information sharing among members and the community at large.
Ibrahim Al Mallouhi, Vice President, Security Operations, du, said, “This is a great achievement for our team at du. Becoming a member of the FIRST community brings incredible value to our business. Furthermore, it reestablishes our commitment to always providing our customers with the best-of-breed security services giving them peace of mind in our services, products and our response to their security concerns.”
With the objective of creating more awareness about online security, du also launched a new awareness initiative under the umbrella of its Be Safe campaign last year. The initiative' was launched on du’s website and through its social media channels, www.facebook.com/du, @dutweets and Instagram, targeting children, parents, educational institutions and corporations to teach them various topics related to internet safety.
