Medcare Orthopedic and Spine Hospital to offer free medical treatment to children from conflict-torn countries

Dubai, May 05, 2015: Medcare Orthopedic and Spine Hospital, a centre of excellence exclusively dedicated to super-specialty orthopedic care, has signed an agreement with the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), to provide free medical treatment and surgeries to injured children from conflict countries in the Middle East. The initiative aims to provide the affected children medical help and assistance to improve their quality of life.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Ala Atari, CEO Medcare & VP Aster DM Healthcare and Ms. Yarah Al Saleh, President PCRF – UAE Chapter in the presence of Dr. Shanila Laiju, COO Medcare Hospital at an official ceremony held at the Medcare Orthopedic and Spine Hospital in Dubai.
The initiative is part of Medcare Orthopedic and Spine Hospital’s CSR program and strategy to provide treatment to children from Palestine and other areas in the region where children are affected by armed conflict. The collaboration which is referred by PCRF, will be offered treatment at the Hospital.
Medcare Orthopedic and Spine Hospital has undertaken to provide for the entire treatment of the selected patients, including their medical visas and stay in the UAE. The treatments that offered will include reconstructive surgeries mainly, but not be limited to orthopedic treatments alone. The initiative will cover children of all ages up to 18 years.

PCRF is a non-political, non-profit organization dedicated to healing the wounds of war, occupation and poverty for children in the Middle East, regardless of their nationality, religion, race or gender. PCRF provides free medical care for sick injured children, by sending them abroad to get medical treatment, which is not available in their homeland.
Ensuring that the children covered under the initiative receive comprehensive treatment and continued care, Medcare Orthopedic and Spine Hospital will provide a thorough medical report post-treatment detailing potential treatment plans or recommendations which can be done back in the child’s home country.
