Wheat allergy? Dairy intolerant? Allergic to nuts? (Or simply don’t like celery?) The new GBK allergen menu has you covered!
- GBK introduces one of the UAE’s very first available in-restaurant allergen menus
- New allergen menu details ingredients in its extensive menu which cause allergies – from soya, gluten and nuts to mustard, fish, celery and crustaceans
UAE, April 28, 2015 – UAE burger lovers suffering from food allergies or dislikes can now enjoy GBK’s delicious burgers carefree, with the launch of the brand’s new allergen menu.
One of the first allergen menus to be physically offered in-restaurant, the new menu caters for vegetarian and pescetarian customers; those allergic to dairy, nuts, wheat, eggs, soya, gluten; and more specific or unusual allergies such as mustard, sesame, celery and crustaceans such as lobsters and crabs.
“The UAE boasts a wealth of good restaurants and eating out has become part of the emirate’s culture,” said Darryl Bearer, General Manager of Food Quest.
“However, people with allergies may encounter problems when eating out and restaurants in the UAE seem to be one step behind their European counterparts in catering to those with food intolerances.”
“Our new allergen menu displays clearly and simply, using symbols, the menu items which contain a host of potential allergens meaning our customers can feast on our delicious GBK burgers totally carefree.”
