The three-day event, which is taking place at the at Dubai World Trade Centre, is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The event presents career opportunities in the public and private sector for Emirati graduates and job seekers.
Maryam Subaih, Director of Human Resources at the DHA, said: “This year the DHA has an independent stand and we have advertised more than 100 job vacancies across different healthcare fields such as medical, nursing, paramedical, and administration. The career fair presents an opportunity for us to recruit Emiratis in the health sector and this is in line with our strategy to promote and support national development.”
Subaih added that Emiratis who graduate from local universities in the UAE do not need work experience to begin their careers with the DHA. “We are keen to provide Emiratis an opportunity to begin their careers with us. Our employees are supported and encouraged to pursue their higher education, training programs and courses so that they are always up-to-date with the latest in their field.”
Abdulla Balouma, Head of Planning and Recruitment Section at the DHA said that the DHA is keen to increase manpower ahead of the completion of several pertinent healthcare projects.
In 2015, the 200 bed Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital will be operational, the expansion of the Trauma Centre will be complete and two new medical fitness centres will become functional.
He added that the recruitment is in line with the Dubai Health Strategy 2013-2025 and is based on a detailed work-force plan which takes into consideration various factors such as specialty of manpower needed, number of nurses per hospital bed etc.
