Goa-based designer Ranji Kelekar to unveil Spring/Summer 2015 collection in Dubai
Last Update: Monday, April 20, 2015 : 19:06 (+4GMT)
Ranji Kelekar, the designer behind the RANJI-GOA fashion brand will unveil his Spring Summer 2015 collection in Dubai at the Numaish exhibition. Based in Goa, Ranji’s collection promises to introduce Dubai-ites to a unique boho-chic collection the likes of which Dubai has not yet seen.
The RANJI-GOA Spring Summer 2015 collection will see basic silhouettes given a twist. The shapes this season will see wraps in a single piece of fabric, floor length dresses cut in square and circular deconstruction. The basic shirt will be taken to another level with floral and contemporary print slips all of which are created out of luxe satin, voile, mull, cotton, print khadi and sheer chanderi fabrics. Single dying techniques, shibori circular colour blocking in neutral palettes infused with red and tobacco, with navy cement and sand. Some of the stitching techniques will include pleated and gathered with minimal seams, fine single thread running stitch, hand jali, outward seams and the Goa flowers – a Ranji trademark. The overall collection can be categorized under three interpretations – boho-chic, deconstructed and seamless.
"I am very excited to offer a sneak peak to fashion enthusiasts in Dubai of what is one of my most exciting collections. Keeping my brand aesthetics intact I have worked with fabrics and styles that would suit the Dubai summer and offer a very different collection to what Dubai is usually used to. The women who wear RANJI-GOA are confident and playful, vibrant and classy and I am sure the ladies of Dubai will embrace my designs which need to be worn to be fully understood and then ALWAYS celebrated,” said designer Ranji Kelekar.
The designer will be in Dubai and on hand to help fashionistas select and try on styles that will enhance their personality.
