Dubai, April 13, 2015: Dubai – Muscat Golf challenge will be making its debut in the region as the first corporate golf event bringing together avid golfers with business and professional backgrounds and notable individuals from the two neighbouring countries. The two day tournament will be held at Emirates Golf Club in Dubai on the 17th & 18th of April 2015 and will have the presence of 24 prominent golfers participating from both the countries.

The Dubai-Muscat Golf challenge will be sponsored and supported by Trigon Gulf, a multi-divisional trading organisation headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The event has been initiated to bring the professional community from the two neighboring cities closer with the dual objective of facilitating networking opportunities along with promoting the sport of Golf in the region.

All participating golfers have been selected on the basis of their commitment to the sport and those with high ranking in the business and professional space. A few key players include Moshe Kohli of Kohlman Group, Vishal Tikku – MD, Mondelez Foods, Vikram Arora, CEO Saffron Media Works, Achal Ghai, Managing Partner, Avigo Capital , from Dubai and Humayun Kabir, General Manager Wholesale Banking, National Bank of Oman, Vikas Dixit – CIO, Tawoos Group and Vishal Dhawan, Director Suhail Bahwan Group from Muscat to name a few.

“Golf has been picking up pace amongst the Businessmen and professionals in the region in the recent few years. The UAE and its neighboring countries too have many top quality golf courses to offer and are establishing a fine infrastructure to make Golf a regional sport. The Dubai-Muscat Golf challenge is a good way to recognize local talent and commitment shown towards this sport.” said one of the organizers.

The Dubai-Muscat Golf challenge will be initiated as a yearly tournament, however there is a high likely hood that the second leg of this tournament will be held between November 2015 to January 2016 in Muscat. Organizers expect that this should lead to adding more cities making the event into a regional Cup in the following year.

The tournament will commence this weekend at the Dubai Emirates Golf Club.
