The institute – Dubai’s first and only dance center run by World Ballroom Dance Champions – boasts highly-qualified instructors, a state-of-the-art facility, and a versatile program designed to accommodate students of all ages and skill levels
DUBAI, UAE, April 14, 2015: Founded by internationally-renowned ballroom luminary Greta Laurinaityte, who is currently ranked the second best ballroom dancer in the world, Crystal Dance Center has finally opened its doors in Dubai’s Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT) area. To the delight of dance aficionados, the institute, Dubai’s first and only dance center led by acclaimed World Ballroom Dance Champions, provides students and aspiring professional ballroom dancers with the unique opportunity to learn new moves and steps from the cream of the crop.
Crystal Dance Center’s roster of licensed and qualified dance instructors comprises Laurinaityte, Serbian World Ballroom Dance Champion Dusan Dragovic, and Lithuanian professional ballroom dancer Skaiste Alisauskaite.
The institute guarantees a dynamic environment and offers a broad range of ballroom dance classes and lessons – catered to children and adults of all ages and skill levels – covering a slew of genres. These include Latin Samba, Cha-cha, Rumba, Pasodoble, Jive, Ballroom Waltz, Tango, Vienesse Waltz, Slow Foxtrot, Quickstep, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and Argentine Tango. Crystal Dance Center also provides Zumba classes as an alternative to ballroom dancing.
“The launch of the Crystal Dance Center here in Dubai is the culmination of years of passion, dedication, and concerted efforts to fill a widening gap in the UAE’s dance industry,” said Laurinaityte. “As the first and only dance center run by World Ballroom Dance Champions, this institute serves as a game-changer for Dubai’s legions of dance enthusiasts.”
She also added, “We created this concept with the aim of tapping into this city’s treasure trove of dance talent. From beginners to established dancers, these individuals are looking to step into the arena of ballroom dancing and immerse themselves in a fun atmosphere. More importantly, they want to learn from professionals who are well-accomplished in the international world of ballroom dancing.”
In recent years, Laurinaityte, a Lithuanian World Ballroom Dance Champion, has carved out a stellar reputation as a force to be reckoned with on the international ballroom dancing scene; in the past decade, she has amassed a staggering number of titles and accolades. In addition to being crowned as Champion in the Ballroom, Latin Dancing and 10 Dances categories – in her homeland of Lithuania – Laurinaityte has participated in various World and European Ballroom Championships. In fact, at the age of 15, she came in fifth in the World Ballroom Championship and finished seventh in the World 10 Dance Championship.
Laurinaityte and Dragovic are ballroom dancing partners – ranked among the top six best ballroom couples in the world – and members of the British Dance Council; together, they continue to represent the UK in a string of worldwide ballroom dancing competitions and have garnered the coveted title of UK Amateur Ballroom Champions. Remarkably, Laurinaityte and Dragovic compete, on an annual basis, in the Royal Albert Hall Dancing Championship as well as in the Asian Tour. Moreover, they won a bronze medal in the 2013 Amateur World Ballroom Championship and sealed the runners-up slot in both the International Dance Championship, held at the Royal Albert Hall in 2014, and the Parinama Shanghai Open 2014.
In 2015 March, Laurinaityte and Dragovic also won the much-sought after Classique Ball Award.
Laurinaityte and Dragovic continued their winning streak in 2015. In January, they finished in second place in the UK Open Championship, which is what cemented their position as the second best ballroom dancers in the world. Earlier this year, for the second time running, they won the European Ballroom Cup.
