UAE Health Minister inaugurates Aster Hospital-Mankhool

DUBAI-March 10, 2015: His Excellency Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais, the UAE Minister of Health, inaugurated Aster Hospital-Mankhool in the presence of Dr Azad Moopen, Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, top government officials and other dignitaries. The 100-bed Hospital, located in Mankhool-Bur Dubai, will cater to the growing demand for super-specialty care by providing holistic treatment of international quality standards to the residents.
Aster DM Healthcare, a healthcare provider in the Middle East and India, built the largest Aster Hospital under the Group in the UAE in line with the UAE’s plan to make the country a quality healthcare destination. Spanning across an expanse of 1,90,000 square feet, the advanced facility has been set up with the latest medical and diagnostic technologies across multi-specialty departments.
Inaugurating the Hospital, HE Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais, said, “I am pleased to be at the inaugural ceremony of Aster Hospital-Mankhool. I am sure this facility is well-equipped to contribute significantly to the growing healthcare sector of the UAE. One of the main priorities on the Government’s agenda is to expedite the developments in the healthcare sector and raise the standard of services of the healthcare field to meet and exceed global levels.”

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates envision significant achievements and progress in the healthcare sector in order to alleviate suffering while contributing to a healthier society,” he added.
Commenting on the inauguration, Dr. Azad Moopen, Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, said, “We are extremely proud to dedicate Aster Hospital-Mankhool to the people of the UAE. There has been a growing need for a facility which is capable of providing secondary and some tertiary level care for patients and we hope this will fulfill that requirement,” Dr. Moopen elaborated.

Aster Hospital-Mankhool houses an advanced NICU, in addition to five surgical theatres dedicated to neuro, gastrointestinal, neonatal, orthopedic and general surgical treatments including laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures. The Hospital also has a specialty mother and neonatal care unit to provide tertiary level care during pregnancy and to premature babies, especially critically-ill neonates.”
