Kehkashan Basu Youth Ambassador of World Future Council recognised as the first ICON of the Month

• This month, a 14 yr old Youth Ambassador of World Future Council Kehkashan Basu received the award for her contribution to green initiatives

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, February 22, 2015: ICONS Coffee Couture, a German coffee franchise chain, known for promoting healthy eating and living in the Middle East, recognises Kehkashan Basu, a 14 year old Youth Ambassador of World Future Council for her contribution towards a green and sustainable environment. Kehkashan, who was awarded first ICON of the Month, is the founder president of the Green Hope UAE chapter. The award is given to individuals who have led by example and not only adopt an environmental friendly lifestyle themselves but successfully advocate and encourage others to walk on the same path.

The Founder President of Green Hope UAE is just one of the hats this 14 year old environmental and social activist wears. She is also the Global Coordinator for Children and Youth UNEP Major Group Facilitating Committee, and seeks to provide a networking platform to the children and youth. She has been a role model for not just children her age but people of all ages. Kehkashan’s proactive attitude towards her planet and environment is the reason she was chosen as the first recipient for this award.

Elena Weber, the founder of ICONS Coffee Couture said, “Kehkashan at this young age has achieved already so much and is a true example of what is possible if you have the courage to follow your heart – a true Icon of our Society! We believe in her and her bright future”. Along with the award, Kehkashan was also presented with the famous ICONS sugar-free chocolate cake created and designed by their executive chef, Lara Allegra Lange.

The founder of ICONS Coffee Couture and a former international model, Elena Weber, along with her managing team will be choosing an ICON every month, based on the following criteria;
•  The recipient must add value to their community.
•  The recipient must initiate environmental friendly, sustainable, charitable or health related project(s) within their community

Elena Weber herself is a supporter of healthy wellbeing and sustainable lifestyle. Through her coffee shop she has managed to provide a perfect blend of style and nutrition for the health conscious and fashion loving residents of the city.
