Chinese New Year celebrations with a twist at the Kris with a view Restaurant, Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel, Dubai

Scott Butcher, General Manager of the Park Regis Kris Kin hotel in Dubai , launched a week-long celebration in honour of  the Lunar New Year with a celebration dinner on February 18th attended by dignitaries from the Taiwan and Thai consulates as well as the British Council, Thai Airways, Marubeni and BDP International.

The start of the Chinese Year of the Goat was highlighted by Yu Sheng – a ceremonial Prosperity Toss involving diners scooping and flinging upwards a special seafood and shredded vegetable dish, traditionally served as a symbol of abundance during the New Year period.

According to General Manager of the Park Regis Kris Kin, Scott Butcher, the ceremony also added a spark of festive entertainment to the launch of New Year celebrations: “As well as a VIP dinner to mark the occasion, we are also hosting a week-long promotion at the Kris With a View restaurant – following a Pan-Asian buffet with Chinese specialties on February 19th, our team of chefs have devised a tasty Chinese Set Menu available until February 28th,” he said.

Price of the Pan Asian buffet is AED165 per person, while the Chinese Set Menu is AED150 per person, both prices inclusive of 10 per cent municipality tax and 10 per cent service charge, and available between 1900 and 2300 hours.
