Exams. In education, it’s a test to show the knowledge and ability of children. It’s also a testing time for their parents.
Whether the child is sincere or not, scoring well or not, the children (and sometimes the parents) can get anxious and nervous during examination times. When anxiety is present, children may have sleepless nights, morning alarms and less energy for different activities, too.
The good thing is Homeopathy works wonderfully with children with such case.
CASE:
- Male
- 15 years old
- Sensitive and fearful
- Staying with parents and younger sibling
- Very attached to parents and grandparents
Symptoms:
- childhood fear
- fear of darkness
- fear of animals
- fear of horror shows
- fear of illness/surgeries
- fear of violence (fights within the family or friends)
- scared of a strict teacher and supervisor in school
- gradual decline in concentration when studying
More description:
- The child scored less in classroom tests, always nervous and depressed. He felt going to school was boring. He would be very nervous and anxious before and during examinations. He disliked Mathematics to the core.
- As a result, he had sleepless nights which also developed headache and later on, acne, which also aggravated at time of exams.
- He was a loner and didn’t talk much with his parents, teachers and friends in school.
- The boy’s parents saw his low performance in the 1st term exam and started homeopathic prescription. And with further physical signs and symptoms details, he was given Calc Carb.
- The patient improved within 3 months after taking the prescription. His concentration got really better that his parents happily said he scored the highest mark in Mathematics.
- Along with this, the child became friendlier and interactive by end of 6 months.
Additional Info:
There was another case of a young girl suffering from stress when studying and taking examinations. She has anxiety and does nail biting and later on acquired eczema. The girl dislikes criticism/fault finding especially coming from her parents. She would weep or cry in school for no obvious reasons.
The cases above are best treated with pulsatilla, a homeopathic remedy.
There are many homeopathic medicines for the following cases related to children, some examples are listed below:
- Silicea: For shyness, nervousness and examination anxiety, stage fright, and fear of the public. Children may also have excessive sweating especially in the head area, palms and soles of the feet.
- Kalium Phosphoricum: For anxiety, nervousness, headache, brain fag, weak memory. Children with this problem feels studying is a big task.
- Argent Nitric: For anxiety with trembling of the body, diarrhea, dyspepsia, belching. Children with these signs are always nervous and have the tendency to hurry.
- Lycopodium: For intellectually keen, sincere, children who are performing well but physically weak. This also helps those who have spelling and writing problems and those with anxiety plus stomach upset.
Many more remedies are available but only the right constitutional medicine coupled with correct and detailed case study can aid in reducing the anxiety and build confidence in children with this problem.
So no more anxiety and no more nervousness. All the best to all students and their parents. Happy studying!
