Inaugural Urban Sessions Spreads Jazz Fest Across Four Dubai Venues
Dubai, 11th February 2015: A brand new lifestyle concept designed to spread the spirit and ambience of the Jazz Festival across the city of Dubai and the world’s first live performance of the Middle East mix of one of the greatest 2014 hits are two unique features of Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival® 2015.
Starting on the 19th February and for nine days, the Urban Sessions will be hosted at Trader Vic's Souk Madinat, Frankie’s Italian The Walk JBR, Up On The Tenth Jazz Bar at Radisson Blu Deira Creek and Jazz@PizzaExpress and will give jazz fans and foodies an opportunity to enjoy the ambience and music of the festival grounds in some of the finest restaurants that the city has to offer. All the music enthusiasts are invited to visit those outlets for a chance to win a meet & greet tickets to the festival
And not only that, all ticket holders for the closing night of the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival® 2015 will be the world’s first to sway to its rhythm during the debut live performance by composer and singer John Legend of the Middle East Mix for All Of Me. The track is a unique composition by acclaimed Arab music producer Jean Marie Riachi, fusing some of the region’s leading Arabic instrumentalists with musicians from across the Gulf performing a multitude of instruments and percussion to Legend’s original “All of Me” vocal arrangement.
The recent Golden Globes Award winner won’t be the only living legend to grace the Dubai Media City venue for the 13th edition of the UAE’s longest-running live music event as 16-time Grammy award-winning sensation Sting will have taken the stage the night before with a selection of some of his greatest hits including ‘Desert Rose’, ‘Englishman in New York’ from his solo career and some of The Police’s most popular classics ‘Message In A Bottle’ which helped the band to secure a place in The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
The list of the star-studded ensemble for the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival® 2015 from 25-27 February also includes platinum selling singer - songwriter James Blunt who will headline the inaugural night of the much awaited music, arts and lifestyle extravaganza.
The three male acts will be supported in order of appearances by American singer-songwriter and musician Christina Perri in her Middle East debut, American violinist, dancer, performance artist and composer Lindsey Stirling and jazz bassist, cellist, singer and Grammy Award winner Esperanza Spalding.
In total six top-class artists, three nights of exquisite musical appeal, one big event promise to excite the expected 36,000 fans with their diverse styles of music and on-stage performances bringing enough choice and talent for Dubai’s discerning concert goers to choose from.
