UAE, January 28, 2015: The Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) has reported that the vibrant trade activity of medical equipment between Brazil and the Arab region has resulted in 32 per cent growth or the equivalent of USD 4.39 million as compared to January – November, 2013, which posted USD 3.33 million. The increase demonstrates the strong bilateral trade relations between Brazil and Arab countries. Medical equipment traded over the period included instruments and appliances used for medical, surgical, dental and veterinary purposes; instruments and apparatus for measuring or checking the pressure of liquids or gasses and machines used for ozone therapy, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy and artificial respiration.
Dr. Michel Alaby, Secretary General and CEO of Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, said, “We are very pleased to reveal that the period from January to November, 2014 saw a 32 per cent growth in trading of medical equipment between Brazil and the Arab region—a key indicator that showcases our strong and thriving trade ties with the region. Increased trade activity proves to be both timely and strategic as the region’s healthcare segment is growing by leaps and bounds, which further positions the Gulf region as a highly preferred medical, health and wellness destination. The ABCC is highly confident that trading activity will continue to grow in 2015 not only for the healthcare segment but also across other industry verticals that Brazil actively trades with.”
