STAT SMART LAB in RAK to be UAE’s first smart laboratory promoting “Panel Test” for quick and cost effective results
Introduces “Free Home Collection” of samples for the patients as CSR initiative
Nov 16, 2014, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE……………Star Metropolis, one of UAE’s foremost Diagnostic Lab chain and a subsidiary of prestigious Arabian Healthcare Group signed an exclusive partnership agreement with Samsung Medicalline for UAE’s first smart lab concept. The first STAT SMART LAB based in Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Nakheel area will be aggressively promoting the use of Panel Test for quick and cost effective results. A test panel is a predetermined group of medical tests as an aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. By upholding patients as the top priority, the “Smart Laboratory” provides the latest medical innovation that saves time of clinicians and patients through FAST, EASY and ACCURATE blood analysis, meeting the needs of clinicians in providing smart solutions to patients.
“Our Smart Lab concept will offer a number of panels with promise to have the results available within just 30 minutes to facilitate health care providers make quick decisions and take better care of the patients. With the opening of the new lab we are also announcing the launch of our community service initiative that will include free home collection of samples and smart phone technology to ensure that patient gets best benefit of scientific advancements in diagnostic technology. We will have a system wherein the test results will be sent to patients through a specially designed mobile app, which will also offer the flexibility to view reports as soon as they are available alongside having the functionality of storing data for future use and comparisons. Initially the service will be available for the people of Ras Al Khaimah, however in early 2015, we plan to open similar facility and services in Abu Dhabi and Dubai too, with an aim to replicate the model in other emirates gradually”, said Dr. Raza Siddiqui, Group CEO, Arabian Healthcare Group.
One big advantage of a panel of tests is that many tests can be done with just one blood sample that is divided up in a lab. Test panels offer various advantages to end users such as ordering physicians and hospitals that include more comprehensive testing, rapid turn-around and lower prices. The presence of several tests responsive to the same clinical condition may also increase the chances of detecting that condition and help Doctor’s diagnose underlying condition quicker and more efficiently avoiding the need to order multiple test and multiple sample collections.
“Our aim is to provide the highest & fastest quality of health services to patients by integrating smart solutions to the healthcare system. The Smart Laboratory will provide access to patients through the innovation of “Smart Analyzers” providing accurate and rapid results of multi-parameter tests such as clinical chemistry, immunossay and hematology” commented Samsung Medicalline’s CEO, Mr Abdullah Bajjash.
