DUBAI, UAE – November 04 , 2014 – Continuing its commitment to giving back to the local community, Samsung Gulf Electronics has donated technology to the National Charity Schools to help upgrade their computer labs and enhance the learning environment of students at the school. Founded in 1983 by Juma Al Majid, the National Charity Schools are private, non-profit schools, which provide learning opportunities for children of low-income expatriate families. To launch the partnership, Samsung donated 50 ATIV Smart PC’s, which will be used by students as an important part of the curriculum.
Delighted by the partnership, H.E. Dr. Sheikh Aref, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Charity Schools, said that the new agreement will help to achieve the vision of the school’s founder, H.E. The partnership with the National Charity Schools is part of the wider Samsung Hope for Children CSR initiative, which aims to drive the growth of future generations through technology.
“Our priority is to provide the most engaging learning environment possible for the children in our communities which ultimately, will set them up for a better future,” said Young Soo Kim, President of Samsung Gulf Electronics. “Through the Samsung Hope for Children initiative we provide opportunities and resources to children which will help them reach their highest potential and are honored to partner with the Juma Al Majid National Charity School to bring world-leading technology to their classrooms, starting with the revolutionary ATIV Smart PC.”
Dr. Kamal Farhat, General Manager of the National Charity Schools added, “Learning through technology is becoming an increasingly important feature of education systems around the world, and it is proven to boost interactivity and knowledge retention in the classroom. In line with H.E. The Samsung ATIV Smart PC features an innovative convertible design, which combines the power of a notebook with the convenience of a tablet.
