Kia Motors posts 4.8% global sales growth in September

Dubai, UAE October 12, 2014– Kia Motors Corporation announced today its global sales figures(export sales, domestic sales and sales from overseas plants) for passenger cars, recreational vehicles (RVs) and commercial vehicles forSeptember2014, recording a total of 244,547units sold. This figure represents a 4.8%year-on-year increase.
In September, Kia postedyear-on-year sales increasesin China, Korea andNorth America of 27.3% (60,908 units sold), 20.2% (38,605 units sold) and 3.5% (46,411 units sold), respectively.
Cumulatively, through the first nine months of 2014, Kia’s global sales have increased by 3.9% year-on-year, reaching 2,155,516 units. China, North America andGeneral Markets* have experienced cumulative gains to date in 2014 of 14.8% (485,210 units sold),5.5% (501,202 units sold) and 0.1% (391,978 units sold), respectively.
Kia’s bestselling model in overseas markets for the month of September was the B-segment Rio (known as ‘K2’ in China) with 40,229 units sold. TheC-segment Cerato (known as ‘Forte’ or ‘K3’ in some markets) was the second bestseller with 36,046 units delivered, while theSportage compact CUV, OptimaD-segmentsedanandSoul urban crossover followed with 35,622, 24,425 and 16,002units sold, respectively.
