World Elderly Day  Gifts:  Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) joined with Sharjah Social Services Department to celebrate the World eElderly Day on October 1.
Hamriyah Free Zone Authority celebrates World Elderly Day

SHARJAH- The  Hamriyah Free Zone Authority has celebrated International Day for Older Persons on Wednesday, (October 1) in collaboration with the   Sharjah Social Services Department .

International Day of Older Persons is observed on October 1 annually and recognized by the United Nations as a day dedicated to those aged 60 years and over.  It is also referred to as World Elderly Day.

As part of the World Elderly Day,  delegates from the Sharjah Social Services Department visited patients  and senior citizens at hospitals and old age homes with greetings and gift boxes

“Our participation in the event, in cooperation with  Sharjah Social Services Department, is in line with HFZA's keenness to appreciate the role of this category of the society and celebrate parents who devoted their lives to the upbringing of the present generation,” said Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) and Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone).

“Helping and caring for older people is the least we could do to recognise their great contribution to the welfare of their families and in raising socially responsible generations,” he said The theme of the 2014 commemoration was “Leaving No One Behind: Promoting a Society for All”.
