DUBAI, Sunday 21st September 2014: It is said that everyone has a novel inside of them. It is also said that the hardest part of any journey is the first step. The hustle and bustle of the ever-cosmopolitan Dubai ensures that every person living here has a collection of adventures, emotions and intriguing stories to tell – all they need is a little inspiration to finally get around to writing that bestseller!

Creative Writing Dubai is a special course designed for adults, that has been successfully running here since early 2013. Aspiring writers from around world - both beginners and experienced - have participated in this course which is filled with imaginative exercises, interesting group discussions and unique and creative topics, all  combined to offer a creative course which is specifically designed to easily inspire you to take those first steps in the creative writing process.

A brand new course will start on Monday, October 6th 2014. The course will be held for four consecutive weeks, every Monday evening between 7.30pm-9pm at Pascal Tepper French Bakery in Media City. The complete four-week course costs AED 700 and includes a private consultation and analysis of your finished work. During these sessions, you will work both as a group and individually, being taught by British-born professional novelist, writer and actress, Hayley Doyle.

So, what can you expect to learn during this exciting course? Learn and practice innovative and creative methods to escape dreaded writer’s block while perfecting how to create and develop memorable, established characters. Once the course is complete, budding novelists will have the necessary skills and tools needed to develop a book’s setting, dialogue and characters from beginning to end, giving them everything they need to write their first book. What’s more, you will get an honest insight into the exciting world of publishing, with tips on how to take those very important first steps to becoming a published author.

Hayley Doyle is the founder of Creative Writing Dubai. With a Masters degree in Creative Writing: The Novel from Brunel University in London, where she studied under the supervision of the legendary Fay Weldon. Hayley won the Curtis Brown Award for a novelist in 2010 and is represented by Darley Anderson Literary Agency in London. She has been writing plays for children in Dubai for almost five years and is also the founder of the popular Hayley’s Comet Theatre Company.
