Minister of Economy Reviews Ministry's Social Responsibility Initiatives

Al Mansouri Meets Committee for Social Responsibility Initiatives and Team Overseeing Zayed Humanitarian Day Activities 

Abu Dhabi-UAE: 21August, 2014 – His Excellency Sultan Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, met the Social Responsibility Initiatives Committee and team members of the Zayed Humanitarian Day (ZHD) event at the Ministry of Economy’s offices in the capital. The meeting reviewed the progress made in the implementation of various initiatives and outlined a plan of action for the Social Responsibility Initiatives Committee.

Commending the work achieved by the committee and ZHD team members, His Excellency Sultan Al Mansouri said: “In addition to our responsibility in carrying out ministerial duties, the Ministry of Economy works in collaboration with public and private sector entities to add value through our social responsibility programs. Our initiatives target all categories of society in the UAE and reiterate the true spirit of our compassionate and united nation. Our goal is to make social responsibility an integral part of our organizational culture at the Ministry of Economy.”

The Ministry of Economy (MoE) runs several social responsibility programs and initiatives in collaboration with humanitarian and charity organizations such as the UAE Red Crescent and the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs (ZHO).

The MoE also recently launched an internal awareness campaign to reiterate the importance of social responsibility among its staff members. The awareness campaign was followed by a number of initiatives during the holy month of Ramadan that targeted the more vulnerable sections of society, including orphans and needy families. The Ramadan Gift and Eid Dress campaigns provided hundreds of individuals and families with basic essentials during the holy month and the Eid festivities.

Tareq Al Marzouqi, Director, Government Communications Department at the Ministry of Economy and Head of Social Responsibility Initiative Committee, said: “Under the direct supervision of the Minister of Economy, we carry out seasonal social responsibility campaigns during Ramadan and other occasions. These activities complement our ongoing CSR programs. The success of our initiatives is due mainly to the active and sincere involvement of all our staff members and internal stakeholders. We regularly assess our initiatives and programs with the view to developing them further and ensuring sustained outcomes for our beneficiaries.”
