BurJuman prepares for the descent of the three Cybertronians – OPTIMUS PRIME, MEGATRON and BUMBLEBEE - to the mall at one time
Summer celebrations at BurJuman are set to take off with an action-packed start, as characters from the popular TRANSFORMERS series land in the mall for their first-ever stage performance in the Middle East, under license from Hasbro Inc.
Presented by Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), in collaboration with BurJuman, ‘The Decepticon Clone’ show at the mall is set to excite all the fans of the AUTOBOTS from July 31 until August 9, 2014. The 20-minute show will bring to life legendary Cybertron inhabitants OPTIMUS PRIME, MEGATRON and BUMBLEBEE, along with two human actors. Three shows will be held at 6:00pm, 7:30pm and 8:50pm daily followed by Meet and Greet opportunities offering children the chance for a personal encounter with their favorite onscreen robots.
A large stage, with gigantic doors of up to three metres in height, will be set up at BurJuman to accommodate the enormous robots, which stand at an impressive 7.5 feet tall. From special effects including roaring sounds and smoke to sci-fi action and adventures galore, there is plenty of entertainment to watch out for as the heroic and evil forces of the two Cybertron races battle it out before the audience.
TRANSFORMERS movie buffs can catch all the live action as DECEPTICON MEGATRON disguises himself as BUMBLEBEE to get his hands on the Cybertron intelligence chip. With the humans having fallen for the MEGATRON’s cloning trick, kids can look forward to thrilling action as they lead the evil DECEPTICON to the chip unaware of his plans to take over Cybertron and the planet Earth.
For the real die-hard fans in town, BurJuman will be displaying a yellow Camaro similar to the car that transforms into BUMBLEBEE in the movie franchise and TV series. From 28th July until 2nd September, kids can dash to the mall to pose with the car and win great prizes by sharing their pictures online.
“TRANSFORMERS has grown to be the number one action brand in the world boasting a huge international fan following. These mega-popular robots will make for a fantastic fun addition to our busy summer calendar of events, packed with entertainment, promotions and DSS festivities. At BurJuman, we are committed to offering a complete family mall experience, providing a diverse range of captivating activities for the local community. In line with our renovation plans, we look forward to bringing the TRANSFORMERS to entertain shoppers this summer, as we look ahead to our own exciting transformation,” said Leigh Regan, Chief Operating Officer, BurJuman.
‘The Decepticon Clone’ TRANSFORMERS Show marks the beginning of the Dubai Summer Surprises, which is organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE). Held from August 2 to September 5, 2014, DSS promises a month-long festival of valuable shopping deals and fun-filled, family-oriented entertainment throughout the city.
The robots’ visit to Earth coincides with the release of the fourth movie in the successful film franchise hitting Middle East cinemas in July.
‘The Decepticon Clone’ TRANSFORMERS Show is produced and created by Invent Creative & Event Solutions, Hasbro’s official live events licensee in the region.
