Under the patronage of Al Maktoum of Al Maktoum Foundation and the approval of the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) held its Annual Iftar fundraising campaign on Friday the 11th of July 2014. Earlier this year’s the PCRF has launched a campaign that aims to secure funds in order to provide medical treatment for children from Syria who have suffered from injuries due to the conflict taking place there. The PCRF has presence in Jordan and Lebanon and plans on providing specialized medical treatment to these injured children in these countries.
Additionally, and due to the latest events taking place in Gaza, the PCRF announced that through the donations of the attendees of the event, the PCRF will be treating children injured from the Israeli assault on Gaza. The PCRF has staff present on the ground in Gaza which has already identified several cases that need treatment.
Steve Sosebee, co-founder and CEO of the PCRF, said “The response and support of the community in the UAE gives us all hope and let's our people in Gaza and Syria feel that their children are not forgotten."
Its is worth mentioning that the PCRF is a nonpolitical, non-religious organization that was founded in 1991 with the goal of treating Arab children that are not able to obtain necessary treatment, regardless of their ethnicity, religion or background.
The iftar was sponsored by Dar Al Sada, Jabbar Internet Group, Range Developments, and Sun Engineering, and had an attendance that exceeded 600 people.
