Rose Rayhaan by Rotana hotel hosts Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC)

Dubai, June 23, 2014 – Emphasizing its commitment to its CSR initiatives, on the occasion of International Children’s Day, Rose Rayhaan by Rotana hotel, the flagship property of Rotana, the leading hotel management company in the Middle East and Africa hosted a fun-filled day for children and their mothers from the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC).
Planned in collaboration with DFWAC representatives, the event involved a fun time filled with activities and exciting games for kids and their mothers whereas the Rose’s team spent time with the children, had a chance to hand over gifts and prizes and enjoyed the dinner buffet prepared by the hotel’s master chefs. As part of this initiative, the hotel has donated the furniture including office desks, tables, cabinets and drawers along with decorative items that will be used on the premises of Dubai Foundation for Women and Children.
Commenting on the hotel’s initiative, Noura Al Jarwan, the Activities Coordinator of DFWAC said: “I would like to thank Rose Rayhaan by Rotana for such well-planned event, we had nearly 40 members and stuff joined this event, thank you for the smiles you have put on their faces, both adults and children had fun, during this amazing event, it was heart-warming to see the hotel’s team take care and play with them. We are extending our appreciation to Rose for its generous gesture in providing furniture that will enable the Foundation to continue providing rehabilitative care to our clients.”

Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) is the first licensed non-profit shelter in the UAE for women and children victims of domestic violence, child abuse, and human trafficking. It was established in July 2007 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to offer victims immediate protection and support services in accordance with international human rights obligations. The Foundation provides a helpline, emergency shelter, and support services to women and children victims and aims to protect physically, sexually, and emotionally abused women and children, prevent ongoing abuse and the escalation of violence, and promote social awareness through education and outreach.
“In a bid to showcase our commitment to the local community, Rose Rayhaan by Rotana has been an integral part of UAE society and has been involved in numerous community customized projects such as clean-up campaigns, regular blood donations, organizing donations to the Philippines after severe natural disasters. The hotel has consistently supported events and programs of the Senses Residential Care Home for Special Needs and worked closely with several Dubai centers concentrating in developing children with special needs. As part of the Rotana Earth, Rotana’s Global Corporate Sustainability Platform, our hotel has also actively been promoting environmental awareness by running several green initiatives”, added Karim Nahas.
