Capturing an exceptionally intense, fiery character in the cup: Introducing the Nespresso Ristretto Intenso Grand Cru
Nespresso Business Solutions reaches greater heights of intensity
Dubai, UAE June, 2014 – Increasing desire for intense coffee experiences has resulted in extending the range of out-of-home coffee experiences that Nespresso offers. Nespresso business solution is focused on innovation due to consumer demand and has moved to provide consumers’ favourite Grand Cru out-of-home. With the introduction of the Ristretto Intenso Grand Cru Nespresso has taken its Business Solutions Grands Crus to new heights of intensity.
Ristretto Intenso is based on the Kazaar Grand Cru, a much sought-after Grand Cru which was first introduced as a Limited Edition, called back twice by consumer demand and then finally integrated as part of the permanent range.
“Nespresso Grands Crus are loved around the world at home, it is a natural progression that we should make the breadth of those coffee experiences that our Club Members and coffee lovers enjoy at home, as an out-of-home coffee experience”, said Oliver Perquy, Head of Out-of-Home, Nestlé Nespresso S.A.
The Business Solutions team at Nespresso has grown in its 18-year history to provide its range of products and services to professional customers in more than 50 countries around the world. Its business solutions are designed to meet the needs of some of the most discerning hosts in the world’s foremost hotels and restaurants, and of course those of our extensive group of business customers.
The most intense Grand Cru yet, for professional use
The full-bodied Ristretto Intenso Grand Cru is its most intense Ristretto Grand Cru yet.
This exceptionally intense and syrupy Grand Cru, rich in roasted notes, reaches 12 on the Nespresso coffee intensity scale. With this Grand Cru, Nespresso coffee experts have broken the scale of coffee intensity in Business Solutions Grands Crus, pushing their mastery and innovation to its limits, to increase the coffee intensity to 12 from the previous intensity level of 10 with the Ristretto Origin India.
From start to finish, the Ristretto Intenso creation demonstrates a mastery of the art of coffee creation, from the green coffee selection, to the blending and roasting techniques employed.
Nespresso experts identified a gourmet Robusta blend and thus made the inclusion of a rare washed bean which ensures the blend is intense yet not harsh. Nespresso worked together with its coffee farmer partners in Brazil to move from mechanical high temperature drying process for the green bean to drying this Robusta variety naturally in the sun. The second Robusta bean is sourced in Guatemala and was also treated differently to the mechanical manner, instead being treated through the wet drying method which ensures smoothness while keeping the intensity intact.
The Ristretto Intenso Grand Cru blend also includes an Arabica from South America which is separately roasted. This split roasting technique brings out the best characteristics of each coffee variety. The intense roast brings out the strong bitterness and body of the Robustas and the long roast of the Arabica brings out finer notes and natural sweetness.
Extremely intense as well as bitter, coupled with highly aromatic qualities, the Ristretto Intenso Grand Cru is nonetheless never harsh. It boasts a creamy texture, high density and pepper notes, leaving a pleasurable aftertaste. It also possesses powerful and distinctive aromas which emanate from its spicy and woody notes.
The Nespresso Business Solutions coffee range comprises now nine different Grands Crus across four families, Ristretto, Lungo, Espresso and Decaffinated.
